About
Kristina Andersson Bicher is a poet, essayist and translator. She is the author of two full-length poetry collections: Heat, Sob, Lily (2025) and She-Giant in the Land of Here-We-Go-Again (2020), both out with MadHat Press. Her chapbook Just Now Alive was a finalist in the New Women’s Voices Series (FLP, 2014).
Her translation of Swedish poet Marie Lundquist's poetry collection I walk around gathering up my garden for the night was published in a bilingual edition in 2020 by Bitter Oleander Press.
Her poetry appears in such literary journals as AGNI, Ploughshares, Hayden’s Ferry, Plume, Denver Quarterly, and Narrative. Her translations and nonfiction have appeared in The Atlantic, Brooklyn Rail, Harvard Review, Asymptote, and Writer’s Chronicle, among others. Kristina attended the Bread Loaf Translation conference and has translated essays from Swedish to English on photography and painting. She is co-creator/co-host of SEAM: a poetry reading series with Kathleen Ossip.
She received a BA from Harvard University, an MA in creative writing from Manhattanville College, an MFA in poetry from Sarah Lawrence College, and is currently a candidate for a master's degree in Contemporary Art from the Sotheby's Institute of Art.
